What a Wonderful World

Riverhaven Nursing and Rehab resident with their painting of a tree

“I see trees of green, red roses too, I see them bloom for me and you, and I think to myself, what a wonderful world. I see skies of blue and clouds of white, the bright blessed day and the dark sacred night, and I think to myself, what a wonderful world.”

Lyrics by: Lois Armstrong; What A Wonderful World

When I see the faces of our loved ones in our community I am overcome with emotion and song. Today when I saw the face of our grinning resident after finishing her most beautiful artwork I thought to myself….what a wonderful World. It seems like there isn’t a melody very far away from my brain these days. With all the mayhem around us turning to music to can soothe one’s soul.

Today our activity Director Jalletha walked through the hallways and played music, danced going in and out of the rooms while being joined by the marketing director dancing and singing and just being in the moment…. there were smiles and laughter abound. We were having pure unadulterated fun forgetting about who’s watching us and simply put… loving our family. It’s days like these that warms our hearts and reminds us that we are here for them.
