2020 Walk to End ALZ!

October is Alzheimer’s awareness month. Here at River Haven we are active in our community. Our 2020 Walk to End ALZ was done on October 13th and was a hit. Our family of residents loved their event and waived their flags & flowers with pride.

As part of our commitment to this cause our Marketing Director Teresa, Business Office Manager Shannon, and Assistant Business Office Manager Ann have spearheaded our END ALZ campaign this year. Faithfully for the past several years our organization donates money to sponsor the ALZ Association, elects to have a national walk team, and raises funds internally for the walk event.

Each month there is a committee that meets for the yearly WALK TO END ALZ event. It is hosted by Laura Todino (Community Relations Coordinator) at Morningside of Paducah Assisted Living. Laura generously hosts the meeting along with a superb luncheon for each of the committee members. We are fortunate to have an eclectic group of businesses in attendance such as, Parkview, Clearview, Harrah’s Casino, Atlas Physical Therapy, Gaither Suites at West Park, Wal-Mart, McCracken County Schools, Morningside of Paducah, Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital, and River Haven Nursing & Rehabilitation. All whom are dedicated to raise funds for the organization and help to raise awareness in our community.

Lisa Schaefer is our Special Events manager for the Alzheimer’s Association of greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana chapter located at 701 N. Weinbach Ave. Suite 510, Evansville, IN 47711. She can be reached at her office (812)-568-5072 or cell (812)568-5072. We hope you’ll join us in our efforts to end ALZ and raise awareness.
