May 2023 – Letter from the Administrator

Hello All! As we prepare for National Nursing Home Week, I wanted to discuss the theme for this year and just how special it is. This year the theme is “Cultivating Kindness”, and I feel that in the industry we are in, it is so very important that we strive to show kindness each and every day. In the words of Leo Buscaglia, “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” How are you showing kindness to our residents? How are you showing kindness to our staff? How are we all showing kindness to each of our visitors that enter the facility? We all have down days, days that we would rather be at home, days we would rather be outside enjoying beautiful weather, days we would rather be with family…. but we can always find things right here in our wonderful facility and in each other to be grateful for and we can always find ways to show love and appreciation. A smile goes such a long way, and together we can smile and travel a great distance!
