A Letter from the Administrator

Welcome to the month of May. This month we celebrate National Nursing Home week and National Nurses week. This month has a powerful reminder of the compassion and dedication that sustain some of our most vulnerable population. Nursing Homes are not simply facilities – they are homes filled with stories, laughter and the quiet dignity of lives well lived. The staff who work within these walls provide far more than medical care; they offer companionship, comfort, and a steady, reassuring presence to our residents who depend on them every single day. Celebrating this week is an opportunity for all of us to pause and recognize the profound humanity embedded in this work.
Nurses stand at the heart of quality care in every long-term care setting. They navigate complex medical needs, advocate fiercely for their patients, and do so often with remarkable grace under pressure. Whether administrating medications at dawn, holding a resident’s hand during a difficult moment, or coordinating with families to ensure their loved ones feel seen and valued, nurses bring both skill and soul to their profession. As we honor National Nurses week, let us extend our deepest gratitude not just with words, but with renewed commitment to supporting these caregivers with the resources, respect, and recognition they so richly deserve.
As you visit Riverhaven, please stand with me and acknowledge all our wonderful nurses.
Thank you Nurses!!
Warm Regards,
Robert Young, Administrator
